Flourish Counselling & Psychotherapy
A Little About Me 🌿
I am a mother of three beautiful children, two of whom are neurodivergent, an author of a series of children's storybooks, and a counsellor in Echuca. Each of my children has taught me the meaning of resilience, the virtue of patience, the power of advocacy and the importance of embracing individuality and life with curiosity and understanding.
🌿My Journey and Lived Experience
My journey has taught me that healing is possible, even after disconnection, loss and betrayal. Rebuilding a sense of emotional safety, self-trust, and purposeful intention has been a transformative aspect of my journey, and it’s what inspires the work I do today.
The challenges and hardships I have endured have not only shaped who I am, but also how I show up in the work I do with people. I endeavour to hold space with compassion, empathy, understanding and a belief in our capacity to grow and heal.
Every day, I’m reminded that we are all capable of coming home to ourselves—and it’s an honour to be able to guide and to walk alongside others as they navigate their way back home.
Who I Am 🌿
Who I am is shaped by the stories I’ve lived and the values I hold close. I bring a calm and caring presence to the spaces I hold, grounded in a deep belief in each person’s inherent worth and the insight they carry.
My approach to life is guided by curiosity, authenticity, being kind, and a commitment to social justice.
Outside of sessions, I enjoy spending time in nature, listening to music, reading, and reflecting on life. At the heart of it all is a deep respect for the power of emotional safety, trust, empowering others, and having meaningful connections.
🌿Experience and Qualifications
I am an accredited and registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association and hold a triple Diploma in Applied Social Science (Behavioural Science), Counselling, and Counselling Practice. I am also registered with Psychology Today as an accredited member, endorsed as a registered counsellor.
I am certified in the nationally accredited Respond to Domestic and Family Violence certification, delivered by Lifeline, which forms a part of The National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children.
I am also an EFT tapping for trauma practitioner, using this technique to work with individuals facing complex trauma, and I am a certified life coach. Additionally, I am an accredited counsellor in Echuca and a certified neurodiversity coach.
My knowledge and expertise are rooted in trauma-informed counselling with a human-centric approach, advocating for women, children and families impacted by domestic and family violence, poverty and disadvantage, neurodiversity and those who have been disempowered through systemic and family systems dynamics, barriers and life's challenges.
Additionally, I specialise in counselling individuals within the NDIS community, supporting individuals with diverse needs in capacity building, helping them achieve their goals and improve their daily lives through personalised and targeted treatment plans and collaboration with their support teams.
My knowledge and specialised training enable me to work closely with a range of diverse clients to build confidence, resilience and promote therapeutic interventions and strategies that promote healing and vitality.
By fostering an environment of personal empowerment and emotional safety, individuals are supported to live a life of courage, strength and purpose.
Values That Shape My Practice 🌿
I have an acute awareness of the need for inclusion, acceptance, and equality, which has shaped the values at the heart of my counselling practice and is the bones of Flourish Counselling & Psychotherapy.
My lived experience, academic pursuits, and professional journey in empowering individuals have provided me with a strong foundation in understanding social and systemic issues that prevent adequate access to mental health care. These insights continue to shape my values and fuel my commitment to promoting positive change and advocating for those who face barriers to effective mental health care.
Overcoming oppression in marginalised communities requires a collective call to action, advocacy, collective healing and a clear recognition of the systemic barriers that harm rather than help. Dismantling these harmful structures and challenging the stigma surrounding mental health is essential to building a more equitable society, and it is my mission to walk alongside those who need it most, offering emotional safety, support, and solidarity.
🌿Commitment to Growth and Empowerment
I am committed to ongoing personal and professional development by maintaining my registration and membership with the Australian Counselling Association, the leading peak body in the counselling profession. My affiliation with these organisations is founded on accountability, integrity, upholding high ethical standards, and adhering to best practices that foster excellence in the counselling profession.
A Vision for a Kinder World 🌿
Last, but not least, I endeavour to contribute to a world where kindness and equality lay the foundation for growth, where inclusion, acceptance and equality guide our work to overcome barriers and challenges with courage, determination and resilience.
My vision is to empower my clients through a therapeutic framework that supports autonomy, self-determination, collaboration and deep transformation.
Our mission is to provide accessible, specialised and practical counselling in Echuca that empowers individuals and communities by:
🌿 Advocating for systemic changes to reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health through collaboration and community outreach to foster inclusion, acceptance and equality.
