The Heart Behind Flourish Counselling & Psychotherapy:

A registered counsellor in Echuca providing Counselling in Echuca

Kerynn Fotiou - Founder | Registered Counsellor

Welcome to

Flourish Counselling & Psychotherapy Echuca

A Little About Me 🌿

I am a trauma-informed and registered counsellor in Echuca who provides specialised and tailored support for individuals, families and children.

Who I am is shaped by the stories I’ve lived and the values I carry close to my heart. My practice is rooted in lived experience, ethical clarity, and a quiet commitment to dignity. I provide support in counselling individuals, children, couples, and families, and I bring a calm and caring presence to the spaces I hold, where each person’s insight is honoured, and their worth is seen and truly witnessed. I meet each client with curiosity, compassion, and respect, trusting that their protective responses hold wisdom, and that transformation unfolds when safety is felt.

My approach to life is guided by curiosity, authenticity, being kind, and a commitment to equality for all. Outside of sessions, I enjoy spending time with my family, being immersed in nature, listening to music, reading, and reflecting on life and the stories that unfold.

 🌿Experience and Qualifications

I carry with me a substantial toolbelt of skills and qualifications that reflect my deep commitment to supporting individuals as they navigate life’s barriers and challenges.

My practice is grounded in trauma-informed counselling, neurodivergent-affirming principles, and a belief in every person’s right to be seen, heard, and understood.

Below is a summary of my professional qualifications and affiliations:

  • A triple Diploma in Applied Social Science (Developmental and Behavioural Science), Counselling, and Counselling Practice
  • Accredited and registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA)
  • An accredited Member of Psychology Today and endorsed as a registered counsellor.
  • Certified in Recognise and Respond to Domestic and Family Violence in the nationally accredited training delivered by Lifeline Australia, aligned with The National Plan to End Gendered Violence
  • A certified trauma recovery coach, supporting individuals with complex trauma through body-based, regulation-focused techniques and psychoeducation
  • A certified Life Coach offering strengths-based support for personal growth, clarity, and transformation
  • A certified Neurodiversity Coach working collaboratively with support coordinators, LACs, and professionals within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to advocate for inclusive, affirming care and support.

Each qualification reflects not just an area of expertise, but a values-driven and purposeful approach to facilitate healing and recovery that honours autonomy, fosters resilience, and centres on emotional and relational safety.

🌏 A Vision for a Kinder World

I envision a future where kindness and equality are foundations for healing.
Where inclusion, acceptance, and equity guide us, and where courage, autonomy, and self-determination shape our becoming.

Flourish Counselling in Echuca is a space where healing is welcomed, not rushed. Where transformation unfolds gently, in its own time, and where every story is met with respect, curiosity, and care.

🌿 Our Values

Grounded in Inclusion, Acceptance and Equality for all!

Inclusion means every client is welcomed as they are, without needing to mask, minimise, or explain their existence. It means recognising the richness of neurodivergence, cultural identity, and lived experience, and creating a space where difference is not just recognised but honoured.

Acceptance is the foundation of safety. It is the quiet assurance that your story will be held without judgment. That your protective responses will be understood in context. That you will not be pathologised, but instead be seen.

Equality is the lens through which I challenge systemic harm. Equality guides my ability to advocate for your needs. It means naming power imbalances, resisting minimisation, and ensuring that every client, regardless of background or diagnosis, is treated with dignity and respect.

These values are woven into every session, and they are the heartbeat of

Flourish Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Our open-door policy welcomes LGBTQA+ individuals and others from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
