Hello, I’m Kerynn, a registered, trauma-informed counsellor in Echuca, registered with the Australian Counselling Association.
As a trauma-informed counsellor, I provide person-centred counselling and psychosocial support in Echuca, focusing on the recovery of adults, children, couples, and families who are navigating trauma, stress, anxiety and depression.
Flourish Counselling & Psychosocial Support grew from a long-held hope to create a space where people feel genuinely safe, understood, and supported. I envisioned creating a practice where lived experience, neuroscience, and trauma-informed approaches to counselling honour the whole person and their full story.
With over 25 years of experience in community services and counselling professions, my practice is grounded in ethical, evidence-based approaches that are practical, outcome-focused, and backed by evidence. I provide counselling in Echuca from my private practice, tailored to individual needs.
I hold postgraduate training in behavioural science, counselling, domestic and family violence response, neurodiversity coaching, trauma recovery coaching, and solutions-focused therapy.
My biggest career highlight was training with Dr Bessel van der Kolk at his Melbourne workshop, The Body Keeps the Score, which profoundly shaped my understanding of trauma, the nervous system's adaptation to distress, and the ways our life experiences influence how we think, feel, function, and connect with the world around us.
I am a registered member with the ACA (Australian Counselling Association), ARCAP (The Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), and Psychology Today, and I am listed on HealthShare, Halaxy, Health Direct, and The Campaspe Shire Council, where I also provide NDIS counselling in Echuca.
